WISTERIA Boots
These boots were inspired by the shadows cast on my front window by the Wisteria growing outside. The plant’s twisting tendrils echoed the tradition of monograms on Western Boots, and reminded me of the embroidered initials on the pillowcases of my youth in France. The font for the “DG” comes from a book of French monograms from the 1800s in the Boston Public Library permanent collection. The boots are made from llama skin with kid for the inlay; the soles are hand-sewn.
